Today we introduce you to our member company ECRIMESA INVESTMENT CASTING.
ECRIMESA INVESTMENT CASTING is part of the ECRIMESA GROUP together with MIMECRISA and MECANSA. The company was originally founded in 1964 in the northern Spanish city of Santander and has been operating from this location since then.
ECRIMESA GROUP develops efficient steel and aluminum parts with Investment Casting, Metal Injection Moulding (MIM), Machining and Additive Manufacturing.
ECRIMESA has more than fifty years of experience in investment casting and it has developed more than 9,500 projects with stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum. Investment casting is a versatile process that allows a wide range of designs (including complex pieces) and a great variety of alloys.
The high surface quality of the manufactured products makes it possible to eliminate final machining operations, thereby improving the final cost of the parts.
This technology provides a high degree of flexibility as small volumes or large runs can be manufactured in a way that ensures a homogeneous quality.
Their typical or medium part weight is around 250 gr having in production parts from 5 gr up to 25 kg for a wide range of industries, like automotive, aeronautical, defense and health among others.
ECRIMESA has a steel production capacity of more than 9 tons per day, and they can offer complete parts including finishing works and heat treatment with their own means such as cutting, polishing, calibrating, pickling and surface finishing.
In their 20,000 sqm of modern facilities they count with technical office, tooling plant, simulations, ceramic shell room, melting area heat treatment and machining plant.
ECRIMESA has its own mold design and manufacturing office and offers complete advice to adapt designs to the casting process. They support the experience of designers and metallurgists with simulation software (Magma Soft and Inspire Cast) in this process.
They facilitate rapid prototypes by printing, being able to manufacture waxes without building molds, which is very beneficial in the initial stages when the customer’s design is not yet very defined and it is necessary to make several prototypes prior to manufacturing of the final mold. With this solution, they eliminate the barrier of mold construction in the initial phases or in low quantity projects in which the investment in the mold is a limiting factor.
