Between September 24 and October 2, 2024, FUNDIGEX organiSed a Trade Delegation that brought together five important international companies, potential clients in the foundry sector. Coming from Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and the Czech Republic, these companies visited 24 Spanish foundries with individualised agendas, allowing for a detailed and personalized approach to each visit. The initiative focused on strengthening commercial relations between Spanish companies and the European market, promoting the excellence and competitiveness of the foundry industry in Spain.

The participating companies were: Atlas Copco of Germany, a leader in the manufacture of compressors and compressed air systems; Weber Group, also from Germany, specialized in the production of high-precision turbines and industrial components; Switzerland’s Stobag, a manufacturer of sun protection systems such as blinds and awnings; Howden, from the Czech Republic, known for its production of industrial compressors and fans; and HJ Edwards, from Sweden, recognised agents throughout the Nordic market.

During the mission, each of the five international companies was able to learn in depth about the technical and production capabilities of different Spanish foundries. The personalised agendas allowed exclusive visits to the facilities, where technological advances were presented and the companies’ compliance with environmental regulations and energy efficiency was highlighted. The host foundries took the opportunity to demonstrate how their production processes are aligned with international standards of quality and sustainability, factors that are increasingly in demand in international markets.
The impressions of these potential international clients were very positive. One of the representatives of Atlas Copco praised the organization of the event and highlighted that the visits exceeded his expectations in terms of innovation and quality of Spanish foundries. Likewise, Howden valued the foundries’ flexibility and adaptability to meet specific customer needs. In general, foreign companies agreed on the excellent organization of the event and showed interest in continuing to collaborate with Spanish companies in the future.

Twice a year, FUNDIGEX organises these kind of initiatives in order to show the international markets the excellence of the Spanish foundry sector and gives them the opportunity to get to know the foundries in depth. The Association is already working on a second Trade Delegtion that will be carried out at the end of November 2024, where it will seek to attract more international companies and diversify industrial sectors, which reaffirms FUNDIGEX’s commitment to the internationalization of the Spanish foundry sector and the creation of new commercial opportunities.
In summary, this activity has demonstrated the ability of Spanish foundries to compete in the global market and strengthen commercial ties with important European companies. From FUNDIGEX, we reiterate our gratitude and congratulate each of the participating foundries for their effort and commitment to the association and to the Spanish foundry industry. We hope to continue counting on your support in future initiatives.
